Would your sponsor licence survive a UKVI visit?

The four compliance duties every UK sponsor is judged on - from Conroy Baker, Immigration Law Specialists.

First - visits can be unannounced

UKVI can visit any sponsor, with or without notice. Audit-readiness has to be continuous, not prepared on demand

Duty 1 -  Record-keeping

Specified documents for every sponsored worker, producible on request. Files that exist but can't be found quickly fail the test

Duty 2 - Monitoring

Track attendance, absences, and changes to role, salary and location. Hybrid work that drifts from the CoS is today's most common gap

Duty 3 -  Reporting

Every reportable event, through the SMS, within strict windows - owned by a named person, not "the team"

Duty 4 -  Preventing illegal working

Right-to-work checks done correctly, on everyone, before day one - with follow-ups diarised for time-limited permissions

What actually decides the outcome?

Process ownership, not company size. One owner, one calendar, one complete file per worker
