Introduction

Are you planning to apply for a visa to the United Kingdom, it would be smart to know regarding the changes in the UK visa fees. The UK government announced New UK Visa Fees beginning October 4, 2023 on September 15, 2023. This change followed the announcement on July 13, 2023, that immigration and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) fees will be substantially revised.

However the overall fee amount is determined by the type of visa you are applying for, the location from which you apply, and whether additional expenses (such as the immigration healthcare surcharge and VFS charges) are required.

Affected UK visa types

As per the UK government’s announcement the fees for Work and Visit visas are hiked by 15% whereas applications for Certificate of Sponsorship, entry clearance visas, Leave to Remain, Settlement, and Citizenship are increased by 15 to 20%.

Changes in priority services

The new UK visa fees for priority and Super Priority visa services for non-settlement and settlement visa applications from both inside and outside the UK will be the same. Priority service for non-settlement visa applications from outside the UK is increased by 100% (from £250 to £500) and priority service for settlement visa applications is reduced from £573 to £500. Priority service for applications submitted within the United Kingdom remains at £500. All applicants will now see an increase of £1,000 for Super Priority service.
